Picnic and Patio Organizer

This basket was taught at our guild a few years ago. Due to its popularity and great usefulness, we will be offering it again. The basket holds plates, napkins, and silverware for entertaining or everyday use. It has 2 swing handles and a hand made wood divider.

Tapestry Basket

The inner basket of this double wall becomes the mold for the outer tapestry basket. It incorporates yarn, raffia, sisal, philodendron sheaths, pine needles, broomcorn and anything else you want.

APRIL 11th

Hourglass Cathead Basket
Instructor:Marlene Meyer

Unique and fun basket!!! Start with an hourglass woven base to make an easy and fun cathead shape. Finding the right piece of birch bark to make the design makes every basket very unique and yours. End with stacking and a palm inflorescence or pine needle rim. Bead embellishments can be added if you choose. Approximately 6" x 1 1/2" base, 10" high.

Philo Wall Basket

Start on a wooden base. Shaping is very important and will be watched closely and discussed. Stack at the top and end with a philodendron rim with turquoise or coral design. Dimensions: 8" H, 7 ½" x 3 1/3" bottom measurement, 6 x 5" top measurement.

Cherokee Tote Basket

This basket has a Tennessee hand-carved handle. Great basket to store many things. A maple strip adds to the wonderful pattern on this basket. Dimensions: 10 ½" wide and 18" long with 7" sides

Birch Bark Bottles

Finnish diagonal weave birch bark bottle with cover. Small is great for allspice or pepper corns. Large can hold wild rice.

Hearth Basket

This will be a smaller version of a Hearth Basket, with the finished size being approximately 8" x 16". A 'D' handle is used and we will incorporate patterns created by dyed reed. A sample of the basket will be available for viewing at the March and April meetings.
